Generators

QUIET/WHISPER WATT GENERATORS

Only inverter-style generators rated at 65 decibels (dB) or lower at 23 feet are permitted. If your generator sounds like a lawn mower, it will not be permitted.

EXHAUST

Generator exhaust must face away from tents and neighboring camps at all times. Units may not direct fumes toward others and may be shut off if deemed unsafe.

FUEL STORAGE:
Gasoline must be stored in an enclosed and separate compartment from open flame and cannot be out in the open.

GENERATOR PLACEMENT:
For tent campers, generators must be placed at least 10 feet away from any flames, but 15-20 feet is recommended when applicable. Generators should also be stored away from direct sunlight.

RV’s with generators must also have gasoline stored within the RV structure.

“Don’t Be A Dick” / QUIET HOURS (5am-11am)
Generators should be powered off from 5am – 11am unless absolutely necessary (such as medical needs or essential use) as a courtesy to your neighbors.

Propane

Small 16.4 oz camp stove bottles are allowed in GA camping.
Large 15 lb grill tanks are only permitted in RV camping and must be stored safely.
