All Your Questions About Where To Camp Are Answered!

Camp in the area designated on your ticket. Our policy states “Purchase a ticket for your intended camping area.” If your intended camping area is sold out then you will purchase a ticket for a camping area that is available. Campers are only authorized to set up a camp in relation to what their ticket reads. Each ticket comes with a corresponding wristband at check-in.  CLICK HERE to see the map.

Main Camp:  Located at the heart festival, these camping spaces are right next to the stages.  This is the most active.  If you seek a quiet late night experience or value sleep then we recommend looking at New Camp or Hilltop as things can get a little wild in Main Camp!  Parking for Main Camp is about .9 mile away in Hilltop Camp which you can access via shuttle between 9am – 3am daily.  Sections of Main Camp are The North Crook, White Pines, Big Bottom, and Hemlock Hole.  The High Meadow is also considered Main Camp, however this area is reserved for a very special set of people and may only be occupied by request only.  If you wish to request camping in this area then please reach out to

New Camp:  This is very close to Main Camp’s primary camping area known as “The Big Bottom.”  This campsite has it’s own check-in location and offers free parking.  There is a woodsy area of this camp which is very similar to that of the Big Bottom that we call The Old Forest.  Camping in The Old Forest is first come, first served.  There is also plenty of other areas to find shade inside the New Camp Field.  This location is a quiet location. While it does have some action, it is a great place to escape the constant action of Main Camp.

Hilltop Camp:  This camping area has the Clubhouse Stage which operates from 11am – 10pm each day as well as the Activity Area which features a 31ft long slip & slide and a Misting Lounge with performances, chillout spaces, games, wine bar and more!  This area is also located directly next to parking for easy access to your vehicle.  It may seem far from the action of Main Camp but there are multiple shuttles that run from 9am each morning to 3am at night daily that will get you into Main Camp quickly and easily.  This is also the best option for anyone who is doing Big Dub on a budget as there is significant savings in ticket price.

New Camp – New Camp Check-in off Rt-26 (Clear Ridge Road)

Security will be making sure no camping gear is being walked into Main Camp from Hilltop Camping/Parking.  Security will be on guard at all gates, including multiple checkpoints along the mile-long access road that leads from Hilltop Camp & Main Parking into Main Camp. Anyone arriving at New Camp must have a New Camp ticket or they will be turned away to proceed to the Main Gate (Hilltop & Main Camp tickets).

Once inside the gates all attendees are permitted to roam from campsite to campsite freely. However, the following exceptions will not be permitted:
– Anyone carrying anything larger than a bookbag will not be permitted into Main Camp without a Main Camp wristband
– Any car driving into Main Camp for Tues/Wed arrival may only transport guests who have Main Camp wristbands
– No one may carry anything larger than a bookbag from New Camp into Main Camp & vice versa

Please understand that this decision is ultimately for everyone’s safety and comfort. Use this information to plan accordingly for your visit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I have a New Camp ticket and my friends have Hilltop. They are arriving with me – what do I do?
A: Your friends will need to be dropped off at the Main Gate to register while you proceed to check in at New Camp. Make sure your friends are aware that there is no transportation into camp from Main Gate & they will have to walk. We recommend changing your plans if need be based on what is most important to you.

Q: I’m part of a theme camp that is in Main Camp but some friends didn’t get tickets for Main Camp on time. It is now sold out. What do they do?
A: They will have to purchase a ticket for whatever is available and camp there. Our festival sells out in advance every year so it is very important to buy tickets when they go on sale as opposed to waiting.

Q: I’m driving my friends to the festival. All of us have Main Camp but one of them has Hilltop. What do we do?
A: All of you will check in at the Main Gate. The friend who has a Hilltop wristband will not be permitted to ride into Main Camp with you while you set up your camp. A security guard will stop you on the road before you pass Hilltop into Main Camp to check your wristbands and require your friend to exit the vehicle.

Q: I have a Main Camp ticket but all of my friends have purchased tickets to Hilltop and I want to camp with them. What can I do?
A: Hilltop is not at as big of a risk for overcrowding and there is no regulation against someone with a Main Camp ticket to camp in Hilltop. Tickets for the festival are non-refundable however so there would be no compensation for switching from Main Camp to Hilltop, but it would resolve your problem. Otherwise you would camp in Main Camp while they camp in Hilltop.

Q: What types of wristbands will there be?
A: Main Camp, Hilltop, and New Camp will all have separate wristbands.

Q:  What is the best place to camp?
A:  Everywhere!  Four Quarters is magical and each camping area has it’s own personality.  Think about what is important to you!
